Troop 42 regularly participates in high adventure outings in the summer. In recent years this has included trips to Philmont Scout Ranch, Florida Sea Base, Catalina Island, and the World Scout Jamboree. In 2020 Troop 42 will be sending two crews to the Northern Tier high adventure base in Minnesota / Canada. More experienced Scouts also participate in backpacking trips closer to home in Northern California and Yosemite on a regular basis.
