Troop 42 regularly participates in high adventure outings in the summer. In recent years this has included trips to Philmont Scout Ranch, Florida Sea Base, Catalina Island, and the World Scout Jamboree. In 2025 Troop 42 sent three crews to the Northern Tier high adventure base in Minnesota / Canada and in 2026 we sent two crews to Philmont Scout Ranch. More experienced Scouts also participate in backpacking trips closer to home in Northern California and Yosemite on a regular basis.
